Often we get the same question from brides-to-be, “Should I hire a wedding planner?” Our answer is always a resounding “yes!” To explain why we interviewed Kylie Hubbard of Social Weddings and Events based out of Norman and Oklahoma City.
Why to Hire a Wedding Planner…
1) They Have The Hook-Ups
When you hire a wedding planner, you also hire the connections that come along with them. What a bonus, #areweright? Planners have relationships with vendors and other professionals in the wedding industry that go far beyond what a bride can do. For example, Kylie and Natalie Stephens (florist) were able to beautifully execute the floral components of this wedding much better than the average bride could have. Why? Because Kylie understood what flowers were in season and could easily compare and contrast similar flowers in different price ranges. Together, they created a flower dream scene.
2) They Understand Budgets
Brides (of course) understand that they have a budget, but rarely do they understand the best way to break it down among the various vendor categories and how to get the most bang-for-their-buck. Often brides spend a large percentage of their budget on one item leaving their options limited for the remaining necessary expenditures such as music, catering, rentals and photography, just to name a few. A planner will help create your dream day while keeping you in check.
3) They Can Create Your Vision
Kylie is an absolute gem because she truly wants to get to know the bride and groom before their big day. She interviews them, scours their Pinterest boards, finds out the exact aesthetic they’ll be trying to convey on their wedding day, and then makes it utterly and completely their own. For instance, she completely killed the lush theme that the bride was hoping for on this dreamy day. The flowers she selected look like they could have been intricately chosen from the Hillside Manor’s garden, and the chairs carved from the woods beyond — the arch was even handcrafted from tree limbs from a tree on the property. When it came to effortlessly matching the incredible foliage on-site, she gets a 10/10.
