Here’s our list of tips for incorporating your dog into your wedding day.
- Dress Them Up!
- You & your wedding party are all dressed in your very best, so why not include your dog in on all the fun. Your guests will be certain to ooh and ah over a sweet pup in wedding attire on your big day. There are so many looks to choose from when it comes to dog special occasion, really your imagination is the limit. We love seeing a traditional bowtie for a dressed up dog, or if you’re looking for something a little dressier you can choose a collared shirt or white dress for your dog.
- Give Them a Job!
- A busy dog is a happy dog. And on your wedding day this couldn’t be truer. Depending on the temperament of your dog, you might decide to entrust them with some big task, like being your ring bearer, or if they’re a little more shy have them be a part of the reception so they can enjoy a couple belly rubs while letting loose. You might look into brushing your pooch up on their obedience before the big day, because you want them to be on their best behavior.
- Strike a Pose!
- Having your dog take part in your wedding is such a sweet notion that you will certainly want to have images to remember the day by forever. Most dogs aren’t too keen on sitting in one spot for more than 10 minutes, so before your big day rolls around take a couple days to practice. Have your pooch sit in one spot and even take a few images of him sitting there, make sure to practice using flash so it won’t scare him off during portraits. Reward him for his good behavior, and you will be certain to have a well behaved pooch.
